Who here has any reports? Yes, I already searched and read the BFM forum. Anything new, using 3015's?

Yeah, the 3015 is the premium driver I believe. Giant cab, but more lows than the J12. Seems like a reasonable approach.

I would find out how much port area they have though. Lots of BFM designs have come with a shortage of port area for electric bass in the first iteration--should be right around 30 square inches for a 3015 to be super happy, IIRC. Maybe a tad less. I would assume Bill's following the same pattern the J12 uses now though, with a significant amount of port area (24" or so on the new 12).

Thumbs up

Thank you. As you may have already surmised, I have a pair of 3015's, hence my curiosity with different cabinets to put them in. I am so pleased with the 606's I have, I should be satisfied. You are always very helpful, and I thank you.

I have a Jack 15 loaded w/a 3015. Killer cab. But it's pretty big/heavy for my bad lower back. Not bad at about 53-55 lbs, mind you. But just a tad big/heavy for me.

Mine does not have any tweets, and I really don't miss them (the tweets). Very full and punchy, and with enough power can get pretty darn loud.

This cab has made me a believer in BFM designs, for sure.

Hope your build is going well!

Jack (30)15

how does the low of the Jack 15 compare to the best of the direct radiating cabs?

in terms of the low end, is it comparable to any of the off the shelf cab?
how does it compare to the fEarFul 12"? 15"? again in terms of the low end

I would like to know the max volume level, rather than the sensitivity level

You can extrapolate the max volume by looking at the sensitivity then the Jack manual.

I would guess Bill rates the Jack 15 at 400 watts or so, based on the ~200-250 watt displacement estimate for the J12 w/3012HO.
