I got some new Jank...

I got a Goliath II 4x10 to replace the 2x10. Now I'm not sure which to keep, the 2x112's or the 2x10....or keep them all...?
Good thing the BX500 will do 2 ohms.

Leaving the bras on would have made the rest of the mess totally ok.

My humble offering.

Love this thread....

I love low tech...I know its not a bass but I play guitar also.

Last year I was playing a rock club and I found a Squire Strat in the trash. I took it home and took it apart. Found some fried wires so I scrapped all the electronics. Other than that it was in great shape.

I grabbed an old single coil and sealed it in some electrical tape. I screwed it into the neck position. Its wired direct to the input jack. No tone, no volume and no pickguard, all jank!

Im running heavy Zakk Wylde GHS strings in the 5,4,3,2 position(no strings in the 6 or 1 spot) tuned C#. Total jank, total doom, sustain forever, loud as heJJ and it plays fantastic. Its sounds like a chainsaw. By the way its not pink...just looks that way because its a crappy picture.

Janky? Is that part of some kind of regional dialect?

I tried many different ways of routing the signal. I think that last night, biamping won!

It sounded great. I ran the highs (cutoff is 100Hz I think) to the Avatar 210 and the lows to the Acoustic 115). But for the record I did not split it that way because I think that the bigger speaker produces deeper lows. I did it because I am less worried about blowing the Acoustic. I was gonna try it both ways but it sounded so good like that, plus, like I said, I luv the Avatar more. And the Acoustic seems to be holding up like a champ. I've got all the knobs on the MB200 at noon and both channels of the QSC dimed. It's the bottom-of-the-line QSC, I think - the GX3. One reason I picked it was that it wouldn't be so easy to blow out either cab with it. (Main reason was that it was cheep. Jank!)

There is probably no scientific reason why this sounded so much better than running both cabs full range, but it did. With the highs up top they seemed to cut through really well, and the lows on the bottom seemed like an awesom fog of doom.

Doing it all even more wrongly....

Stop right there...

biamping is the standard method of turning sonic mush from mismatched cabs into hifi bass!
