Did you use green LED's in your SB-12 for the lucite logo, or is that the original "green glow"?

Congrats on the B-12 Fenderampeg!

There have been several really cool vintage Ampegs popping up on Ebay lately. Usually we don't see that many of that quality until springtime, but I'm guessing people need the money for Christmas. And I'm surprised at the number of Random Navy Flair amps there have been. A 1960 tin logo RNF "4335" amp is on there now, less than a 45 minute drive away from me at a reputable Music Store in Dubuque, IA. I'm not interested in the amp, but I'm thinking about stopping to check out that tolex since I've never seen RNF in person.

For a minute there I thought I was looking at one of those extremely rare Super Combo Amps that they only made 8 of. That would have been a real find. Even at that, the 4435 model no. is confusing the issue since I can't find it in the Ampeg book.

If you look at the tube chart in the amp it lists the model number but it's hard to discern. The listing says 4335 and H335, but it almost looks like it could be H35S

Also found this while browsing ampeg stuff on ebay.

Orphaned BT-15 cab. Has a 66 CTS speaker in there. Could make a nice little extension cab for someone.

Thanks Stiles72 & Ric, I'm already thinking about a speaker replacement, considering finding a D120F, the speaker looks original (C12N) and I might consider a recone, OC speaker is local for me.

And a family photo for the first page;

I saw that one too. An orphaned BT head from a BT15C just sold recently on there and would have made a nice pairing.

I hadn't looked it up in "the book" - but now that I have, it does show a "Model 435-SN" listed for 1960 & 1961.

It looks like it might be a 435S. A stereo amp for guitar and accordion.

I see that Clint beat me to it.

Here is my 63 B-15NA with a Cort headless bass. Short scale basses like this one are a lot of fun because they are so easy to play.

David,
I know you've posted this amp before, did Mark at Vintage Blue re-cover the cabinet, of did you do it yourself? I'm a little surprised that you didn't do it in Navy Random Flair, but hey it looks great. In fact, it looks better than great. My eyes keep drifting back to that Fender Vibro-Champ. You seem to have one of everything! Did you have the chrome plating on the amp re done, it looks absolutely marvelous?

Ric,

Yes, with some help from a friend, I recovered the amp by adopting Mark's layout with a single piece of vinyl wrapping the back and sides. Less seams and the only way to go. It looks fantastic. The blue check is the proper vinyl for the 63. It would be nice if the random navy flair were reproduced and available. The chrome is original but the camera helps cover a myriad of sins.

Like the B-15, the 67 Fender Vibro-Champ has a magical quality about it. Something about this amp makes it very special. I slowed down the tremolo a bit and it really sounds nice with the mod.

The bass originally had a heavy polyester black paint which I sanded off and then applied an oil finish. It weighs next to nothing.

Love the Cort, David...used to play them at the store all the time in the 80's.

Ya, bringing back navy random flair would be awesome, but the Heritage B-15 would probably be $5000 if they did.

Not pictured: upgraded Marshall JTM410C with 10" SVT CTS speakers. It's my baby vintage 810.
