I just picked up one of these at Guitar Center, which has them on clearance for $159. Bought it as a guitar amp head, but noticed right away that it's voiced pretty dark and would make a decent bass recording amp. With only 5 watts, it's not enough volume for a band, but makes a nice tube recording amp. Sounded pretty good through my Ampeg 2x10 and my SWR 1x10T. You have to keep the preamp level relatively low and the master volume on full or the distortion becomes too much. Also noticed that the Treble, Mid and Bass controls are pretty much at 100% by the time you turn them up to the 2:00 position. Hard to go wrong at $159 if you're looking to add some tube grit to your miked cab bass recordings.

wow that looks really interesting, I find all the tiny tube stuff very cool (pedals, amps, headphone amps, etc.)

My guitarist has a Jet City, not this model, the 20w tube amp. I was weary of the quality at first but that thing gets loud! It gigs like a champ.
