LOL! I'm good, bro. Got mine all worked out. But they sold out of the 2012 batch and it'll likely be another month. That's cool...I'd rather have it dated 2013 anyway. 2012 isn't unlucky enough for me.

update 2:

definitely powerful enough.

i'm still learning a bit about the magic of these amps. it seems that these amps are made to have the front end boosted pretty heavily, and the power tubes really just provide volume for the characteristics of the circuitry.

still haven't put new strings on my 62 ri jazz (mia). running this through a nv610.

something is still different about the quality of breakup in these 6550's. it seems more focused, but potentially not as detailed (i hesitate to use the word "musical") as the kt-88's.

more updates to follow.

hey hodgy. i'm sure this is covered in another thread, but could you quickly comment on the difference between the heritage series and my vr?

This is the same in my experience, from a reliability and sound point of view.

That said I do like the jj 6550s for SVTS, I'd recommend the winged C's though.

All I can tell you about this thread is that I'm glad I'm not in the same room with Godspeed checking out breakup characteristics of a VR!
