Not that it matters to anyone, but Monique -> ShuttleMax -> 2 x 112 even makes a $249 Ibanez SR300 sound great. Just saying.

It is take you time get the right tools and pice of cake. Or your local machine shop could do it for a few dollars. Might have to get some shorter screws for the handles.

My Spector is a fairly expensive bass, but the same amp setup sounds killer with my $299 Squier VM Fretless. I use this bass quite a bit.

Basically any bass will sound great thru Monique IMO

I could take the handles off but I like the handles. Jule, if I was to cut the handles down, how far does the thread go into the arms of the handles?
Quite a way. I'd say 3/4". Those are solid aluminum handles.

Probably easier than that. These are off-the-shelf handles. You can purchase handles that will fit and also do not stick out as far. Mouser.com has them but so do a lot of places.

There is a very nice "anvil" like case Jule has that has the cutouts for the handles already. Its light weight and very strong. Scroll back to that pic of a Monique in the studio going into the Berg with Puma power. The wooden Monique is sitting on one. Hey, it's on Jule's website.

My brand new rackmount Monique arrived safely today from Jule via FedEx. What a great pack job! Double boxed, and padded to withstand a drop into the Grand Canyon.

I ordered it on Monday on Jule's website. He shipped it yesterday, and it arrived today. Wow. That's fast!

The Monique looks fantastic, and has a very high quality feel to it (encasement, knobs, etc.).

I won't get a chance to play through it for a week or so, as I needed to order some speaker cables for my rig and I just ordered those cables today (10 gauge Dominator Silverflex from Event Horizon......the absolute best speaker cables on the planet, IMO). I hope to receive them by the end of next week.

Once I hook it all up and play some notes, I will report back with a Monique tone report. I will be running the Monique into a Crest CA9 into a stacked pair of Genz Benz Uber 212 cabs.

I hope to god you don't have a couple of standard speaker cables and your C9 and cabs nearby. Unless you physically "can't" play Monique, I may have to slap you.

P.s. To all that pinged me..... New baby girl is doing amazing and all is good!!!!!

Baird, I have already slapped myself three times for failing to order those speaker cables a week ago.

And congrats on the baby girl!

spoke to James and Diane Dememter about building me a separate class D 800 watt amp to go along with my bird-cage Monique. They said if I can get a blank Monique chassis (obviously without the cage) they'll put the amp in it so I'll have an exact same footprint amp beneath it....pretty sweet! Just waiting to hear from Jule if he'll sell me an empty chassis! This could be a pretty sweet alternative to those of us who don't have the rackmount version and still want that 800 watts of class D power!!

Cool!

Please IM me if you get anywhere with this. If it isn't an insanely high priced project, I would be very interested.

not really if you take into account what it is. However, I have to provide my own chassis (hopefully a blank empty Monique chassis from Jule). Demeter is basically building me a 6" x 9" x 2" 800 watt class D amp weighing about 4-6 lbs. with 1/4" & XLR inputs, a master knob, and 2 speakon outs for $800. Not too shabby looking at other specs of class D amps on the market. This is your bass just amplified, or for our purposes, our bass, into Monique, amplified....

Would love to have the bird cage or Bamboo model with 800 watts from Demeter.
Let us know Mitch what you find out.

Jule: I received the rackmount Monique yesterday.

Thankyou!

Can you tell me what tubes are in it?

I know that two of the tubes are 6SL7's, and the third is a rectifier tube (what type?).

And what brands of tubes are in there? (for all three)

Thanks!

Sacto,

Why bass/basses are you using with the Monique/CA9/GB setup? Fender, EBMM? Both?
