Thanks man! I'm betting (approximately 2500 bucks lol) it will be a "too much of a good thing" situation, or a "" moment lol.

Last week it became obvious that I need to get Monique down to James so he can "play" with his own Monique, and not just customer gear. I also plan to get his new amp up here.

Soon, you can call up James and have him try any combination of his gear and Monique.

This is part of having Monique at NAMM in the Demeter booth as well as the Circle K strings booth - and others if I can build enough in the time available.

All tube Monique into an all tube Demeter. That is a going to be a wild world.

Wish I could be a part of the testing.

Oh, Jule!
What a wonderful thing to hear about any part of creative work. "helps each of us sound like us."

When it is all said and done, that is what it is all about. Thank you.

Gotta plug my friend Zach Rudulph who will be on bass (with Monique Rack Mount) for Andy Grammer on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno - tonight. And Zach has a new (a few months) beautiful baby boy, so you know Zach is another hard working bass player.

All right, I'm going for it! I just started to list my tube amps in the classifieds and I'm going to be purchasing a bird cage Monique and a micro head to power it. I don't have the time to play that I used to, so I'm going to go with one really sweet rig and let the others go.

If anyone is looking for a Trace Elliot HexaValve or TwinValve, an American SVT Classic or the rarest of the rare badass Lemmy Kilmister Marshall LEM 1992 Superbass/Superlead just check the classifieds!

We are out of stock today, but I spoke to Phil last week, the owner of KC Sheetmetal in San Jose. He designed (with a little assistance from me) and builds the Dove Cage. The next brand new batch of Dove Cages will be ready within two weeks.

Yeah they are!! I really hope this turns out to be everything I think it is. There's a fair bit of pain putting my tube amps up for sale today.

Now that is customer service! Or maybe I should say, pre-customer service.

I have to sell my amps first, so I'll probably be ready to buy in a week or so.

Thanks man, I appreciate it!!

I really wish there was a chance for me to try it out before hand. I'm a little worried moving so much gear to afford one. I know most people run passive basses with tube amps, but has anyone tried a modern sounding active bass with the Monique? I play a Fodera Monarch with the Pope pre and I'm wondering how it will play with Monique.

I play a Fender Custom Shop Jazz (passive single coils, but has a built-in preamp if I want to tweak), and an EBMM Sterling Classic. Both sound great through Monique!

And as a reminder, Jule offers a 30 day trial period (if my memory serves me correctly).

I play active spectors into monique and have no issues. I leave the line level in and pull the sensitivity knob out and run that about 3/4 3oclock and it is pretty awesome. The pre is fast response, great tube warmth, non much overridden except the Spector growel. Very clean and articulate. Pres that I have worked with in the past Alembic and Ampeg were slow and do not compare the slightest.

By the way: this pre works great with the Crown xti series. Xlr to 1/4 and a bridged Speakon forget the bananna cable. Into a4 ohm cab is monstrous.

+1 to dis.

I play both a Dual DC bass equipped with an OPB-3 and a Dual MM Humbucker bass with an OPB-3 and the Monique sounds amazing with both in all settings. There's a vid on my site with me rocking the dual MM bass through Monique and an IP310 playing Jean-luc ponty tune on the bridge pick-up...through a camera mic...sounds better than a lot of tones i've heard in better situations

What I have found out with Monique Dove Cage is on a couple of my basses with a very hot pre built in them and they do not have a trimpot to adjust the amount of output gain can overdrive the very first stage V1 on Monique and cause it to sound like it is farting out but through experimenting if you reduce the Volume knob on the bass say 3/4 and increasing the Line Level on Monique it totally covers this. This is only on Active basses with a very hot Pre in them.I noticed this first on a Sadowsky Will Lee and was able adjust the trimpot so it is fine now.I do have this a little with a Spector NS 4 but know that I know more about Monique I know what to do to cover it.

Very nicely said. Thank you. We may have to add a "farting out" section to the Monique Users Manual.
