JUST BOUGHT AN ACOUSTIC B200, NEED ADVICE.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello TB community. Just bought an Acoustic B200 amp from GC for Xmas. I wanted to get the B450 but was short on $$$. Amazing amp, thanks to the great advice of the TB community.

However, I can't figure out the equalizer settings to save my life. The manual isn't very helpful either, very vague and short on details. If any owners of the Acoustic B200, that are great with electronics could help me out I'd be eternally grateful.

I'm assuming the "frequency" knob means "bass'???

Thank you all and Happy New Year!

Doesn't the manual have some sample EQ settings? Maybe if try some of those you'll get a better feel for the EQ.

1.) Start with everything 'flat', 'zeroed' out or 'at noon'..whichever cliche you like
2.) Play bass.
3.) Listen to sound of notes. If you like it, don't touch knobs.
4.) If it's missing 'something' try to analyze what that something is..Bottom, middle, top, fullness, roundness, again insert cliche.

Frequency is the overall tone shape. The EQ can be adjusted within any/every tonal shape.

and for extra credit; Listen with your ears and not your eyes.
Once you find what you like either write it down or take a picture with your cell phone, cause if your amp is loaded and unloaded as much as mine they will NEVER stay where you set them at.

Great Buy!!

Yo!
Here's a simple breakdown of the controls...
They're Frequency based, meaning they push/cut certain frequencies. They start low, and go higher as you move to the right.
should be something like this:
(65) (130) (350) (800) (2k) (5k)
<low end> <mid range><highs>
