Just came across a used Mesa Powerhouse 1000, should I...

....buy it!? the guy is selling it for €850 and it sells for €2000 brand new on this side of the pond. It's recently had 2 new eminence speakers installed and it's had new wheels and handles put on so it sounds like it's been fully serviced. Opinions!?

Worst cab Mesa ever put out, and Eminence drivers aren't correct for it... Mesa has used their own drivers for quite awhile, now - I'd pass if I were you...

I've got one and I love it. I'm running an MPulse 600 through it and I think it sounds great! IMHO

Would the 2 eminence speakers that replaced the others make that much of a difference? I'd be running a Mesa BB750 through it as well.

Take the Mesa BB750 over to the guy's house and try it out. It if sounds good to you, it is good.

Yeah, it could make that much of a difference - then again, that cab is a pretty crappy design to begin with...

FWIW, I'm running a BB750 thru a PH610 - and have played enough PH1000s and 1200s to form a pretty solid opinion on them...
