Hey guys just got a Aggie db680 sounds very good in my music room better with a 15 cab than my 310. I have 8 gigs in the next 10 days so we will become pretty cozy! Do any of u have one of these and if so could u give me some pointers or sample settings for the para eq. My rig consist of various vintage p and j basses, a stingray sterling, rumblefish, a stewart pr1000 amp and I have a 310 cab (with eminence neos) a single 15 and a 610 cab. at low volumes it sounds much better through the 15.. I also use various effects would u use the fx loop? any help would be cool. This preamp seems very precise. I feel there could be a learning curve!

thanks guys

easye

check out some of my music MAgic Red & the Voodoo Tribe

The general guild for parametric EQ
When boosting, use wide Q
When cutting, use narrow Q

That is of course only something to start with
Once you get to know the gear better
You can do a great deal more with that pre

Yep the parametric eq is your best friend with that pre. Boosting with a wide Q yields phat tone. The FX loop is not the greatest I found. Work with it in your living room extensively before going live. It definitely is not as responsive as my Ampeg SVT7 Pro. I've had my DB680 for about 10 years and am never letting it go!

I just got a chance to play one today. You should be able to get a killer sound with everything set flat if you have good basses and cabs. I liked it that way with the Bright switch in. Also got great tones with gain up a bit and a bit of boost at 180 and 1.5 with Q at noon or a bit higher. I want one so if anyone knows where I can pick one up, shoot me a PM.

Send it through a Crest CA9. Then you have a tone monster!
