I run two Hydrive 4x10 cabs and the 800 really packs a wallop. Dont get me wrong, the 500 is still a beast, but the added punch is amazing. Gotta go, more later... |

Hopefully I can work my way up to the MB800 eventually when I grow up...as a bassist, that is.

A TBer just told me he preferred his MB2-500 better than the MB500 based on its' EQ points. Just wondering. Been looking for a MB500 or MB2-500; not sure which now.
But that MB800 sure seems like it'd be fun.

The mb200 has no mute and is missing the contour knob and instead has a contour on/off switch. There should be no difference between the MB500 or MB2-500. If it were me I'd go with the mb500 as its the last revision and seems quite solid.

The cool thing is now that I'm using a high pass filter and rolling off some lows (around 80 Hz) I can get my MB800 to sound remarkably close to my old 800RB's. Remarkably.

The later ones are identical to the MB500 with the exception of the switchable limiter.

The unstoppable 400rb full frequency head driving hartke 4x10's. All awesome rigs. I bought a 700rb and kept it for two days before I returned it. It just didnt sound like I remembered GK's sounding. Then while test driving an 800rb Perry at Bass Central here in Orlando mentioned the MB series. After ten minutes I was out the door with an MB500. It just sounded better out of the box than the other GK offerings. |

I'm thinking of getting a HyDrive 4x10 and an MB800 over their LH1000. I'd love your opinion, thank you in advance! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
