Just got a new mystery amp!

I just traded my guitarist a set of old EMG's for an old amp. It says G100-112 on it, but no brand name. Internet is telling me it's a yamaha though, but I really don't know much about it. Has anyone seen something like this?

I played through one of those in high school. My recollection is that it is a 100 watt solid state 1x12 with a parametric EQ. Nice little amp.

It's pretty good. Is it a bass or guitar amp? My friend said his dad told him it was a guitar amp, but I play my bass through it all the time and I never get the feeling I'm overloading it or anything.

Does it look like this? I just googled around and it seems there is a lot of love for that amp.

Only negative, no effects loop.

Guitar amp, btw...

Haha, the photo posted above is actually my amp. It's a good, loud, clean guitar combo.

There was a 50 and a 100. The 100 came in three versions: Mk 1 had no parametric, Mk 11 had the parametric, Mk 111 had different OD channel circuitry and coloured knobs.

It's not a bass amp, as the bass versions were called the B100-115, B100-410, etc.

I use mine for solo bass practice sometimes when my rig is downstairs.

That's it but my friend's dad must've taken the logo off.

Good, useful amps. I've put a 250W Deltalite in mine and it's done everything from regular guitar gigs to emergency duty as a keyboard combo and even once as a vocal monitor. Well worth a set of old EMGs.

Word of advice: pop all the silver knob tops off with a pocketknife, if you have any left, and glue them back with very strong glue.
