Where has GK been all my life? This baby growls like no other. Goodbye Markbass.

Welcome to the GK family, from an MB200 and Backline user.

Yes, the Markbass stuff is warm and clean, and the GK Micro's are sizzly and grindy. Totally different voicings. Both good depending on a given user's tone goals.

+1...
I've been a long time GK user. (Bought a GK 800 new in 1984, still have it!)
Wanted in on the micro amp bandwagon, went with a GK MB2-500...Love it!
My 500 is great and has hit-ya-in-the-face power, I can't imagine the new MB-800 that's soon to be released.

My (little bar/club) gig rig is all GK now, MB500 over 212MBE 4-ohm.

Love it.

I love my MB200 and would love to upgrade to the MB500. Tone-wise, the MB200 is my current favorite. I bet the 500 sounds even better.

I bought an MB 115 two weeks ago and used it live for the first time last week at church which is a decent sized high school auditorium that seats about 800 with a good sized stage. Seating is tiered so you can see everybody. (I was filling in for the bass player who couldn't make it). I went direct and even thought the stage volume isn't blaring my initial concern was that the amp wasn't going to be loud enough. My concerns were soon put to rest. Used my Ibanez SR505 and this little amp punched right thru. I was on a riser at the far right of the stage and had the amp turned towards the rest of the band and they all said it was the best the bass ever came thru. Said it punched thru like they've never heard before. I couldn't believe how well it handled the low B! Don't let the small sized of this amp fool you because it kicks!

It's still pretty new to me and even though I haven't had any time since I'm finally going to have some time this weekend to really work with it. I took a chance when I bought it and offhand I'm really glad I did because I loved what I heard coming thru.

The mb500 has a punch to it that I could never get out of my mark bass. If I want that clean mark bass tone, I just turn down my pickups a touch and it's smooth sailing.
