Just purchased bass..need amp suggestions

Hey all...
This is my official first post!

Now that I have my first bass guitar ever, I need suggestions on what amp to hook it up too.

Got an Ibanez SR300 which by all accounts is a decent beginning bass guitar. My intentions at this stage are just to learn to play, have fun and make some music. Not planning on going into live performances and not really looking to spend a ton right now.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Some sort of budget would be helpful, regardless of what it is. I started with a 25 watt Crate combo amp. It worked ok, but didn't sound the greatest. dirt cheap though, got mine for 40 bucks.

Look into some Peavey combos, pretty impressive for what they are. And used is the way to go.

You will no doubt get many specific suggestions, and that's cool, but there's nothing like taking your bass along to a store and trying as many rigs within your budget as you can. There is a mind-boggling array of combos, head/cabs, pre/poweramp/cab setups available, so try as many as you can.

Acoustic AB50. You can find em used for $150. Otherwise go with the B20.

If you are not opposed to used, look for an Ampeg BA115. A friend picked one up on CL for 100.00. 100W a 15" speaker in a tilt back cab. You could even use it on stage in a band if you have a PA pretty easily because it has a DI built in.

Just looking to play in bedroom and woodshed (self practice):

Acoustic B20

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/...81622000000000

Minimum amp needed to play with other instruments :

Acoustic B100

Acoustic B100 100W 1x15 Bass Combo: Shop Bass & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend

If you buy either of these at your local Guitar Center and you have a problem simply carry it in and they will swap it for a new one.
