Hey,

When I run 2 cabs (4x10's) through my Markbass 800, is it true that they are both run off of one of the gain controls and not both. When would someone need to use that second gain control or do I have it set up wrong, which I don't think I do, but I have done dumber things. Thanks.

The two gain controls are a way to have a mix of the solid state and tube preamps, or just one or the other. It has nothing to do with the volume going to each cab. THAT is controlled by the Master knob. Both cabs will always receive the same level of signal.

Well, I have a solid state, tube knob that does that and the two gain knobs are seperate from that. I am pretty sure I am running it right, but just wanted to make sure. I don't believe the two gains are a way to mix the solid and tube as one of the gains does nothing whether is it all the way down or all the way up. The one other gain does everything. Of course the cabs are hooked to each other. I guess if the cabs were both individually hooked up to the amp head, that would make both gains work.

EDIT: I just read the manual. Gain 2 is for the balanced XLR input.
