just wondering if this would work

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if itd work if i had a 215 cabinet a 212 cabinet and a 210 cabinet all hooked up to one head.

I was thinking you could get two of them as 4 ohms and hook them up in series to each other to make one 8 ohm load

then get the other cab as an 8 ohm and hook that up in parallel to the others. I'm not sure if this is right but I think thatd be a total of 4 ohms for the head.

I was just bored and thought this up and was wondering if having a setup like this would sound good at all.

Sorry if this is a dumb question or if my calculating is off, I really don't know much about cabinets and ohms.

thanks

Rather than worry about series/parallel, I'd just get all 8 ohm cabs and a 2 ohm capable head. That way, all cabs get the same amount of power.

How it would sound is hard to say.

i couldn't imagine it sounding too terribly good. that's what you call "engineering by looks," which is a crapshoot.

You maximum output will be limited by the smallest cabinet, you can do some cunningness with the impedances to ensure the 15s get more, but that mostly means the 15s will be even louder, and totally drown out the others. All a bit pointless, unless you go multi amp, and the 2x12 is a guitar cab. That would be pretty good done right.
