Question Keys into my Aguilar GS112 (has tweeter)...is it safe?

Sign in to disble this ad
Situation coming up where I might need to run a keyboard into my 1x12 Aguilar GS112. It's the one with the built in tweeter. I have an Markbass LMII but I think I'll use my Crate Powerblock since that's more appropriate for the tonal range, has 150 watts at 8ohms. Small club, oldies band doing surf music. The cab's gotta handle a synth keyboard with typical organ and piano voices. I'm thinking that since the cab is designed to handle bass, it should be OK with this altho the tone may not be as nice as what a true keyboard amp would deliver.

Anyone else done stuff like this? Warnings, etc?

Don't worry about advising me either way, not gonna hold anyone to it if the thing gets fried.

Depends on how left hand bass happy your keyboard player is. Probably need to roll off the bass a lot and boost the mid - mids a little.
