Kickplate / Bottom Edge for NV412?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I've noticed when moving my NV412 around on the built in wheels that the ground clearance on the bottom edge with the wheels isn't really all that high, and I'm getting a lot of nicks and scratches / gouges, if you know what I mean. I tilt it back, I roll it along, and I get a few dings from any rocks or bumps along the way.

Has anyone put any sort of L-shaped kickplate on a cabinet like this that comes up a few inches along the back, goes a few inches along the bottom, and offers a solid metallic edge between the two wheels?

Can't say I'm much of a steel worker, so I wouldn't know the first thing about making something like this, but is this something I can request from a local blacksmith, or something?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I've got the skid rails, too, but you know what I'm talking about, right? There's got to be something out there I can get that would fit between the two wheels in your picture (my skid rails are a couple of inches higher) and protect that one edge from scrapes.

You should be able to find some commercial type "corner guards". They are used to protect walls in commercial buildings.

Home Despot sell lengths of aluminium angle in various sizes. This can easily be glued screwed to the offending edge.

At one time you could buy strapping for cabinets in both aluminium and black plastic from almost any speaker hardware company.
