kind of a dumb question I know.

KK

We have a 4 ohm, full range cab that we want to use as a vocal monitor for rehearsal.
I have a 100 w/channel stereo receiver(capable of running 2 pairs of 8 ohm speakers, ch A + B)

Is there someway to bridge this amp to mono into this cab or otherwise bi-wire the 2 channels into 1 input safely?

The input signal would be a mic from a DI box and so would be mono input.

The answer would depend on the specs and features of the specific model mixer/amp you are using. You didn't identify it.

You use the term "receiver". I hope you aren't talking about a home stereo receiver....

That's exactly what I mean.

A home stereo receiver.

100w/ch, A and B @ 8 ohm.

Can it be done?

P.S. I don't really care much about the amp, just don't wanna start a fire or get a shock.

Unless the "amp" is already set up to be bridged, you cannot do it yourself as one of the amps has to be inverted.

And.........if you are talking about a home stereo - don't do it.
