KT88's in a Fender Bassman 300?

This question has probably been asked a million times- but does anyone have any experience with this setup? I put KT88's in my Traynor YBA200, and love the result, just wondering if I should do the same to the Fender. It ain't cheap, buying 6 new tubes!

I don't see why it couldn't work.
Before you spend those big bux, check the bottle size.
I think some KT 88s are enough fatter that they might not
fit in the space allowed for 6550s.

Yeah, the JJ's are quite girthy, but fit (albeit close) in the Traynor, and there's a bit more room in the Fender. I just wanna know if anyone can confirm if it gets more punch or brightness...

Thanks!

KT88s are definitely my favorite power tube for bass. They draw a little more current than 6550 tubes, so as long as the power transformer can handle it and the space is suitable, then it can work. The amp would need to be properly biased to accomodate the swap, of course.
