Just received a BFM Jack flat pack order from Leland. I've read some other positive things about Speaker Hardware on TB and can confirm the good things I've read.
Even though my order was not off-the-shelf, the transaction was easy, fast and reasonably priced, IMO. So what's not to like??
Just a FYI for anybody out there who's thinking about placing an order with Leland.

I bought the plans for a Jack from BFM. And, being the father of two young kids, I figger I can put just about anything together if I have the pieces and assuming the directions are even half inteligible. (The last dozen or so Xmas eve's have made me an expert at putting stuff together with half inteligible directions. If you have kids, you don't have to ask...)
Anyhoo...I'll update this thread, or start a new one, once construction begins. I'd like to start this week. Which means it'll be 3-4 weeks before I can get to it!!
Actually, now that I think about it, The Wife'll give me heck if I don't do some honey-do projects before I start the Jack. Dishwasher mount broke. Gutters need to be cleaned. And that's just off the top of my head.

I hope the jack build goes well. That's the first Jack15 flat pack I've done. Several 12's and 10's. Bill's cabs are difficult to flat pack. Every time I build one I always have to do a little trimming somewhere from my cutout parts. Anticipating that in a flat pack is hard. So I just cut to spec and hope for the best. Assembly squareness is critical. PL cures all ills also.
But it's always worth it in the end. |

But it's always worth it in the end. | I figured I'll have to sand a little here or trim a little there. No biggie considering the parts are already cut out for me!!
I'm also planning on my father "volunteering" to help me. (Though he doesn't know it yet! ) He's a retired mechanical engineer and very good, very experienced amateur woodworker. He's also anal retentive as all get out. Which in this situation is a good thing!!
If he can't get all the corners and joints square and flush, nobody can.
But, shoot....I've already palnned on getting some right angle clamps and other do-dads to help this project out.
Now....Back to that dishwasher.

Driver flat pack kits are the drivers, wood, xovers. Complete kits are drivers, wood, xovers, all the fasteners and all the hardware required to build the cab. All you have to supply is labor and the exterior finish. |

He's done a nice job assembling all the little things that help make a build go well. Things like fasteners. Go to Home Cheapo and try and find black screws. Leland has 'em.
Nice prices, good selection and straight up communications.
Highly appreciated.
Jim

The deluxe kits just went up this week, which have everything except the wood, finish, and dampening. This weekend is devoted to finalizing the flat packs. 15/6 will be first, 12/6 shortly thereafter. |

Jim | Yep to all the above.
For instance:
His speakon/jack plates come with the little nuts and bolts for mounting the connectors to the plate, the foam gasket for mounting the plate to the cab and crimp connectors for the wiring.
I sent an email last Easter Sunday morning asking a question before ordering parts for my fEARful. He replied an hour later! (Obviously he has no more of a "life" than I do.)
EDIT: I call dibs on the first Arauco 12/6 flatpack!

I just checked out the 12/6 Deluxe kit. Good job!
One suggestion: Offer a single strap handle option. I find one strap mounted on the side of my 12/6 is ideal for this old guy.
