kustom 410 + peavey 210 any good?
 

i currently have a kustom 410 and kustom 115. thinking about getting rid of the 15 and adding a 210 for a 610. is this a good idea .. head is a tc bh500

Honestly, swapping out the 115 for a 210 is an improvement but it would still be in your best interest to get another 410. Or replace the 410 you have with another 115. You don't want to be sending the same amount of watts to half the amount of speaker area.

Can you you do it? Yes, sure. You're already doing it of course. Not the end of the world, lol, but not the very best idea to pair a 210 with a 410. Of course also not the best idea to run a 115 with a 410, either. The 210/115 will reach its limit way before the 410.

But lots of guys do it, you may say. And cab companies show this setup a lot. Yes, well, lots of guys do lots of other things that aren't the best choice. And cab companies aren't going to do/say anything to dissuade anyone from buying a box.

As mentioned, above, the idea is to pair like boxes, a 410 with a 410, a 115 with a 115, etc... The closer the driver specs the better, from the same cab outfit even better, identical cabs best.

Electrically a 2x10 will work with a 4x10 only if the 2x10 has twice the impedance of the 4x10. That way all the drivers in the system will receive the same power. How they will sound together is another issue.

Right, so an 8 ohm 210 (or 115) with a 4 ohm 410.

...and an amp that will run @ 2 ohms.
