Has anyone ever used such a cab and are there any big artists who used such a cab?

It's a 4x15 bas cabinet...

Never heard a good sounding Kustom cab my entire life...doesn't mean they don't exist, but I haven't heard one

Not that particular one. Soon, such a cab will come my way... Since it's blocking someone's livingroom.

That cab appears to have ample wasted space. I realize that each speaker has different tuning and porting requirements, but any quad of 15" drivers should have more internal cab volume than that. Regardless of that, let us know how it performs.

Looks like a Sunn 415M. I wasn't aware Kustom had made a copy. The one in the pic looks shorter than the Sunn but it could just be the angle. Otherwise, other than the "K" it's hard to tell them apart.

My Sunn sounds great, but doesn't have a lot of low end, see above post regarding cab volume/drivers. Hopefully you like the sound of yours, and it works in your application, that's all that's really important.

I haven't played one of those monsters. I can attest to Kustom having made good cabs though. My G410H kicks serious booty.
Great projection, goes very deep cleanly (low B), built very well & looks great.
Only downside id it's weight / size.
It has more internal volume than a lot of 410's I've seen so this bastard is 103lbs.

Hey, NI, that's a photo of MY old 415M!

Some photos of the Kustom unit popped up on the Sunn forum awhile ago and the Kustom cab clearly is not as tall as the Sunn cab.

It was a 4x12 with a pyramid shaped baffle, like you were inside looking up at the point of it.

It is not a Kustom. Unless it's later 80's, but then that logo does not match what was used in that time frame.

Kustom never had a 4x15, and i've seen nearly all of their catalogs from "back in the day".

Maybe a homemade copy of the Sunn.

I seem to recall Fender offering this design of bass cabinet during the 80's. Can't remember if it had 12's or 15's in it. Anyone?

Thanks, Bill...

I recall that they are pretty shallow cabs, and the baffle was made of notched pieces of plywood which wasn't great for keeping the box sealed.

The original Kustoms did not use that "K" logo, they used a script word Kustom. And the biggest they had was a 3x15 with the three drivers stacked vertically. So it cannot be from the time frame before Ross quit.

I can't speak for the Kustom products after the name was scooped up many years later, but this truthfully does not look like it was really a Kustom cab. Gotta agree with KramerBassFan.

The big K came later in the '70s, after Kustom abandoned naugahyde for traditional tolex. You can find more history on Kustom at Welcome to VintageKustom.com!!!.

That's the go-to site for the early "tuck'n'roll" models, but unfortunately they don't have any catalogs or info after Bud Ross dumped the company (and the tuck'n'roll models ended).

I agree. The logo would have been on the outside of the grille, not attached to the baffle, where it would not be seen with the grille in place.

I assume someone attached that logo on the inside. The cab that's coming my way does not have that logo. But it is complete with it's original head wich does carry the big K.

The design looks similar to the two 4x18 Bagend cabs I own.

The Kustom will be powered by a 80's MULTITONE 200 deluxe (wich is a dutch tube amp with 8xel34).
