Hi all,
I'm new here and this is my first post - I hope you can help.
We were practising at the weekend with a potential new bassist. He doesn't have an amp yet as he is primarily a guitarist although he does have his own bass guitar.
Anyway, we were using my brothers bands room/bass amp which is the aforementioned Kustom Groove 115C.
Towards the end of the night we noticed the tweeter was farting a little bit so we decided to power down and let my brother know.
Next day, we went up to look at the amp. We switched it on and it made a strange, fairly quiet screeching sound before dying.
The amp still powers up and the green LED is still lighting up showing that it is receiving a signal from the guitar but no sound is coming out.
We're in the situation now where we need to repair or replace the amp and I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar issues before now and, indeed, if the issue was fixable or not.
We weren't playing loud as we were playing acoustically. I think it was just sod's law it happened when we were using it as now we have to get it sorted!!
Regular places we take valve amps to be fixed won't even look at the amp as it's solid-state. The Kustom service center is in Leeds and, with me being in Warrington, I thought I'd get views on here before ringing them.
Thanks,
Paul. |
