Kustom Groove 600 HD opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've seen mixed reviews for the bigger 1200 HD but I haven't been able to find any opinions on the 600 watt HD.
Anyone have any experience with this amp head? I found one That seems to be in good shape on craigslist that I could get for $250. Thoughts?

I was never in love with my 1200HD. It always sounded anemic. I wouldn't mind still having it to use as a power amp but otherwise don't miss it.

I believe the 600HD is just the less powerful version with similar circuitry. The EQ shift switches aren't present above the knobs like they are on the 1200 IIRC.

Anyways, try it out. If you like it, buy it. Don't just take our word(s) for it.

This seems to be a fairly common opinion on these heads. I should mention that this would be replacing a behringer BX4500H that I despise. Do you think it would be a reasonable upgrade?

Very much so. The caveat is that the Kustom is a modern voiced head. It is not going to sound "old school" like an Ampeg stack..

Cool. Thanks. That's more or less what I was hoping to find. A reasonably decent upgrade from the behringer. Guess I'll be buying an amp today.

If you do buy this amp, please post a review shortly after - it's annoyingly difficult to find reviews of the Kustom amps. Thanks in advance and good luck with your purchase!
