KUSTOM KB200H HEAD - So I pulled the trigger and bought one

KUSTOM KB200H HEAD - So I pulled the trigger and bought one today at woodwinds & brasswinds - they have a beat that price option so I seen a used one at daddy's Music for $219.. So I entered that into wwbw's system and in the notes section I stated that the head was used at daddy's and I got a reply back that they will honor the $219 price for a brand new one with free shipping!

So as soon as I get it next week, I'll post a review with pics of the inside and outside and an opinion on the tone.. this head has kustom's proprietary Organic Clipping Overdrive circuit, so I'm not much one for overdrive but if can give me a little growl without sucking all the lowend tone out of it that would be awesome!

I'm stoked!

I'll bet it pretty loud for a 200 watt bass head because my brother once had a kustom guitar head. it's pretty loud for a 200 watt guitar head. it's a solid state guitar head just like that bass head and it provides smooth and heavy sounds. I take it from your review that kustom makes decent bass head. once again, thanks for the review.

Well I've only had it for about 24hrs.. but I've played it for about 3 hours already and the sound is tight and solid, not flabby or farty.. the active EQ is nice, it actually boosts and cuts.. its ran cool for entire 3 hrs last night.. playing to a PA not an actual band.. but I was going to bring it to rehearsal this weekend.. the response is sweet.. can do old school bass tones and tweeking can get you hi-fi new bass bass tones as well.

I also tried out the MP3 in jack and headphone out jack simultaneously.. that is a feature that should be on all amp really.. my peavey 2x15 with eminence commonwealth 15's in it weighs about 130lbs.. and is a bitch to bring up and down the steps of my basement.. so that feature alone will allow me to leave that big ass cabinet at rehearsal and bring the head home.. hook it up to the PC via 1/8" stereo to stereo cable and jam along to youtube, MP3's, Guitar Pro 6.. everything.. and I am so far.. jast happy as hell with this purchase.. the real test though will be long term in gigging situations and rehearsals.. but it does come with a 3 year transferable warranty against defects so if it burns up or starts to fizzle out.. i'm at least covered the next 3 years.. I take of eveything I own no matter the price, so if it goes out it wont be any fault of my own..

Oh man i LOVE the look of it.

Wish there were tubes in it though!

Can anyone comment on how it sounds compaired to the old tuck n' roll Kustoms? My Kustom200 is geting up there in age... it'd be nice to know if there is a good sonic replacement for it...

If you do rehearse with that bass head or it your doing a gig with it, let me know. I would like to know if the amp is gig-worthy and if it's as loud as I believe it would be. I've some reviews saying that this amp is pretty loud for a 200 watt bass head.
