To be honest I have never playing the Laney but I really like the Rumble amps. I have a very expensive setup with nothing Fender in my rig (besides my jazz bass) except a little Rumble 15 that I use for practicing at home. I have played through plenty of them at stores however and I do really like them. I get some sick tones with this 15 using both my jazz (which has upgraded pickups) and my fretless Spector (which is one of the lower models and stock). I hope this helps.

I had a Laney for a while. Loved the sound but it was poorly made and unreliable. I ended up giving it away because I could't in conscience sell it. I might have just been unlucky.

Never owned a Rumble.
