LDS 210 cabinet owners? Opinions? Recommendations on Specs?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm having Don build me a 15/6 right now...about three weeks to go...if he's on schedule.

I'm gonna wait until it arrives before I make a decision but I'm thinking about making it a 210 and 15 stack.

I've read plenty about his 15" cabs and all the rave reviews. But, I haven't seen a whole lot about LDS 210s. Do any of you guys own some of Don's 210 work? I'd like to hear your opinion on them and get your recomendation on specs...size, speakers, tweeter, etc? Looking for ideas. Also, if you are currently running an LDS 210 and 15 stack...I'd love to get yout opinion on it.

Let me know.
Thanks!

-Chris

Completely and utterly pointless beyond all imagining. If you need more volume, get another 15/6 or a 12/6.

There is nothing useful any 10" speaker is going to add to a 15/6 in terms of mids.

Refraining from the hyperbole, I must agree that it's difficult to imagine what a 2 x 10 might add that a second 15/6 would not.

+1 to the above. If you like the sound of a 2x10 on top of a 15/6, then you wasted your money on the 6". Either get another 15/6 or a 12/6 and you'll be very happy!

Thanks

Wow, I guess I'm in for a real treat once my 15/6 arrives. Thanks guys. Looks like my Avatar 210 will be on the chopping block next month. And yes, the reason I ask is because (since I haven't heard a 15/6 yet), I have no idea how boomy or unfocused or not boomy and focused it may or may not be and if it would need help in that dept. with a 210 on top of it. So, going with two 15/6 (before I've heard what one 15/6 sounds like), is kinda crazy. Thanks for clarifying and reinforcing the fact that I bought a badass cab. Can't wait to paly through it.

There is no boom at all and the midrange makes it more focused sounding than any 2x10 in my opinion. The upper bass can need to be cut on hollow stages or in corners, but otherwise it's fine. The bass is smooth because of the large amount of space for the driver and proper tuning

I wouldn't bother ordering anything else until you try the 15/6, absolutely

The other good addition to a 15/6 that I did not bring up is a 15 sub, if you want more bottom but no more mids, but I wouldn't go that way myself.
