To LH1000 or not to LH1000

Hello again,

I'm looking at getting an Hartke LH500 but I'm worried it won't be loud enough to comfortably power the Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester without a PA system. I'm running it through my new Hartke Hydrive 4x10 (only ever gigged once, by Stu Hamm non the less at Manchester Bass Day 2010!)

http://www.hardrock.com/locations/ca...55&MIBenumID=3

This is the venue if you want to get some size perspective.

Will the LH500 be enough or will I have to save up for the LH1000?

The bass player from Megadeth says he never puts his LH1000 over 3 on volume, so I think a LH500 may be enough

Go for the LH1000! I have played the LH500 through the HX410 and have upgraded to the LH1000 . The Hartke HX410 really likes more power because it is a closed cabinet with moderate efficency. 350W against 750W at 8 Ohm. You can hear and feel the difference even at very low volume levels. I liked the LH500 and love the LH1000.

I'd love to go for the Kilo but I'm just way to poor :'( To be honest the LH1000 is gonna be a bit of a stretch for me considering I have to get it together before the first gig in january.

You don't give a whole lot of info to go on, and your profile is blank. But I will say that in most situations, the LH500 should be sufficient. You simply aren't going to get that much more out of a single 410.

My LH500 does most gigs, but I would probably go for the LH1000 if you have the $$$.

You know, PM Larry Hartke and see what he thinks.

My damn RL1000 ( Carvin) just refuses to die. When it does finally go ( preamp is already fried) I plan on buying an LH1000 and running my RBI in front of it. Should be killer.

Thumbs up LH1000

+1 LH1000

save the extra hundred and get more power! better too have too much than not enough, especially when it comes to headroom.
