ya, well, i can't. i know nothing about the carvin. the markbass combo's good, though. is it worth $1000? can't answer that for you but i don't think i'd spend that kind of money on a combo, although i did spend $850 on the mini cmd121p once upon a time. wouldn't do it again, though.

Well, it may not be so easy as simply demanding an answer. I have found I often get pretty far by doing a good bit of looking for and reading of related threads combined with gentle asking---at least that seems to work for me.
