Light weight power amp suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
So "I got a guy" that is going to hook my basses up with an extra gain stage, phantom power supply box connecting through XLR cables staright into a power amp so I can utilize my onboard preamps(OBP 3) as my tone shaping. I think it will be nice because I will really get the tone of each bass as opposed to a standard amp. I am trying to figure out what superlightweight and small power amps are available. Any suggestions or general thoughts on the whole set up? My "guy" is an electronics engineer and a super guitar player and repair person not just anyone.

Crown xls drivecore. <300 bucks will get you 700 watts bridged mono under 8 lbs. That's the ticket.
