Lightest 12" cab; one caveat.

I'm downsizing and upsizing my rig at the same time. I've had a Yorkville 4x10 forever, and it's just getting to be too big of a pain to lug around, up stairs, in and out of the back seat of my extended-cab truck, etc.

From things I've read, I believe a 12" driver is what I'm looking for. I play rock (typical bar covers), passive basses, and a Peavey VB-2 amp head. I'm looking to buy a couple of 1x12" cabs so I can go more modular with my gear, one cab for smaller venues, two (or more) for larger ones. I will have PA support, but it'll be pretty minimal until our band gets more established.

That being said, I know there are a ton of great options out there. What I REALLY want is a BFM Jack. However, I've been given a Guitar Center gift card and would like to use it for these speakers.

So, if buying new (which I likely won't do, I will take the time necessary to find either in-store used, or save up the cash to do the BFM that I *really* want), what would be your choice of light-ish 1x12" from Guitar Center? I know it's limiting, but I figure this is the place to ask for advice. Any advice is appreciated.

By the way, I posted not too long ago about wanting to add a micro head for backup/smaller gigs, and I yesterday I ordered an Ampeg Portaflex 500. It should be in within a week. I can't wait to try it out, and thank those of you who were able to offer their opinions on my situation.

Hello from Atlantic Canada. I have a Traynor YBA 200-2 and I recently used (2) 1x12 Fender Rumble NEO cabs with it. The cabs are very light and the speaker is a Eminence Basslite 2512 11 and has a sensitivity of 99.9 DB. There is also a horn tweeter that is switchable but not with rotary control. The cabs(8 OHMS) are easy to handle,stackable,and sound decent and are rated at 250 watts RMS each.

The 2512 II is an Eminence Deltalite, I think you'll find!

I almost went the same route, but decided to go with a 115 instead, with the option of getting another for outdoor shows, etc. The 115 alone will kick two 112s of the same quality, IMO. Plus, it has more xmax (excursion) than the 112 I was using, so that helps a bunch. Specifically, I have come from a Markbass CMD 121H combo to a separate Little Mark III head with a Traveler 151P cab (all Markbass stuff). I'm doing well with this rig and it's covering everything I do except for REALLY big venues, and outdoors stuff. But, there's PA support, so... This 15 cab also has a sensitivity rating of 100db. Pretty loud at 300w just by itself. Plus, I can push the 15 further than I ever could the 12. But, brands vary, and different 12s vary, too. This is just my experience with this particular equipment, but I thought it might help.

If you want to stick with 12s, I hear that the Markbass Traveler 121H cab sounds good.
