So........if I can sell my 2001RB. I will b looking to purchase a small >= 500 watt amp. Must have DI.
What light weight amps <$1000 sound great and are reliable?
I play mostly Blues, R&B and other classic cover stuff. Don't slap much at all. Play Fenders and Fender fretless clone.
thx

I play a LMII and love it.

thx | Most of the Markbass products are pretty popular. LMII, SA450, LMIII, F1, F500 in particular.
I have an F1 - warm as a cup of coffee, no bigger than a hoagie.

It's a good time to be a bass player.

| | Must. Stop. Buying. Basses. Errrrkkkk!!!! | | Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Roseville, CA | | | Get an Ibanez Promethean 1x10 combo for the price of just a GB amp. The amp in the Promethean combo comes out just by removing 4 thumbscrews and then you have a 7 ('ish ?) pound 500W amp that will run 1 or 2 cabs.
I haven't had mine long, but love it so far.

| | | | I tried a Shuttle 6.0 and an LMII and went with the LMII.
Both are great just preferred the LMII sound although think much more highly about GB as a business based on service and product documentation. |

| | Seer of all that is done there Accessories Sales Associate, Guitar Center Rancho Cucamonga, CA | | Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Upland, California | | | In the past, I have owned a GK 700RB-II, a GK 2001RB, and an Ampeg SVT 4-Pro. I know all too well the hassle of super heavy amps, and the damage that they can do to your lower back (I have a bad back to begin with because of a work injury). When I finally had enough of lugging around the huge bricks, I got myself a Markbass LM-II. Honestly, it's got all the power, tone, and versatility that I need in a super light 6.5lb package that I can sling on my back (in the Markbass live-in cary bag). I play various (read: TONS) effects through it, and have both a fretted Musicman Stingray 5 (active/passive Glockenklang preamp) and a fretless Carvin LB5 (active/passive Carvin preamp) as well as a passive MIM Fender Jazz. All three basses sound awesome and retain their own particular tones. I also find the VPF and VLE controls in conjunction with the EQ to be very handy at copping many different and useful tones. It has a DI out, a dual speakon and 1/4" out, and a second 1/4" only out, effects loop, tuner send, and both 1/4" and XLR inputs. This is likely the last amp that I will need, other than a second one so that I can go stereo rig and/or have a backup in case of repairs (Haven't had a problem yet!). |

2 ohm stability would be great if I ever try to run 2-4 Ohm cabs. I currently have a 4 Ohm 2460 and an 8 ohm 210which really sounds awesome with the GK amps. Althought the 2460alone really gets it done at the venues I play especially with XLR out to the PA subs.
Thanks.
PS: Someone please buy my 2001RB
