Lightweight Bass amplifier

Hey guys, I'm on the search for a 8"-10" bass practise amp, ~25w. I currently have a: Marshall B25 Mk2, i'm very impressed with the tone control on it as it really does have a very varied range! (I normally use my Artec 8band Bass EQ but when im not, the tone controls are sufficient

What I am looking for is a suitable lightweight amplifier with the output power of around my marshall amp, no more than £100 and if possible, lighter. Infact, if anybody knows of very lightweight bass amps in this range, i'd be very happy to check em out (I have the convinience of having to carry my amplifier to school twice a week and it is quite a lug after walking for about 10 minutes!

I had the other idea of converting my marshall amplifier to having a Class D power output stage and a SMPS to replace the transformer, anybody got any ideas on this?

Thanks, Haz

That doesn't seem to be a practical/affordable solution.

Given your budget and location perhaps you can find something here...

Basschat.co.uk > Basschat Market Place > For sale: Amps and cabs

...and then sell your Marshall B25 Mk2--after your next amp has proven its reliability over an extended period of time.

Since you seem to like your current amp, why not check local hardware shops for something like this?:

One with semi-hollow rubber tires (which won't go flat, yet will give the amp a fairly smooth ride) would be best.
