lightweight cab for LM 250

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a LM 250 off the classifieds. I need a lightweight 112 cab for it. Looking at the new GK neo II. Anyone use this cab with LM head ? I play an epi Jack Cassady most of the time. I wish more 112 cabs came in 4 ohms. If the avatar was lighter i would go for that but its almost 10 lbs heavier than the GK and I'm a weakling. I sold my LMII/avatar 2x10 and immediately regretted it, but it was really too much amp for me. I play the occasional gig on bass but the new rig will be mostly for practice and home studio stuff. I am a little concerned that the LM 250 wont be loud enough, but the 300watt GK sounds like a good match for it, and If I ever needed more volume I could run 2 or them.

It'll come down to your ears in the end. I would suggest an 8 ohm cab, as it leaves "room to grow", should you need it. Any good 1x12 bass cab will work, but the tonal preferences are up to you.

how would 2x10's be different than 1x12 ? I am now leanign towards 2x10 as i think the sounds will be tighter and less boomy. my bass is very dark. it definitely doesnt need more bottom.

Hartke HyDrive 112- Switchable from 4 to 8 ohms. Very nice light weight 12 (30 pounds), might be worth a look. I like it with my TCE head so much, I gig with two of them.
