Liklihood of a GK All-tube head

Sign in to disble this ad
I know I may be dreaming since the current trend is Class D, but what are the chances that GK would come out with an all-tube 200-300W amp? Not that I'm dissatisfied with their current product offering, but I'd be willing to be that their all tube head would be the best bang-for-your-buck head out there.

Thoughts?

This would seem to run directly counter to everything that GK stands for, to everything on which Bob Gallien made his name & reputation - which is great-sounding, innovative solid-state amps.

What possible incentive would he have to do something like this that would so thoroughly blur the brand identity?

Hi.

I'm with MM on this.

IMHO, no company that doesn't already have a very strong background on tube technology can compete on that minuscule market.

The SVT price is impossible to beat, and Smarvo produces so cheap 300/200 watter that no-one can compete with that either.

Just my 0.02€

I think GK is more likely to invent an analog tube-tone/power compressor type of feature that lets the power section undulate like an all tube rig and revolutonize the industry, making all tube 'obsolete'.

My apologies to Mr. Gallien if this is in the works but I swear - I was just dreaming.
