Time for some strategic comments on how many shoes she owns. That usually works..... at least for a while.

Got the Little Bastard home and opened her up. The rattle was from two of the preamp tube shields. They had popped off and were rolling around causing the rattle.
Didn't realize there were 3 preamp tubes, thought it only had two. Plugged her in and everything works. Seems a little weird not having a gain knob. But this amp can produce a nice variety of tones and can get real dirty.

Glad the rattle wasn't serious. Question - did you happen to notice what brand tubes it comes with?

One would be the Driver tube- afaik- & therefore not part of pre-amp.
The amp also has the (I think) passive EQ, turn all EQ knobs to off position & no gain/volume at all.

Got mine today!...

Here's how it looks set up with the mini rig cabinets:

The speakers in the cabs are 16 ohm with only one 1/4" jack, so I am going to have to add a second jack to the top cab so that I can run them together into the 8 ohm speaker jack. Tonight, I just used a single cab & kept the volume down... It is a great sounding amp.

Mine should arrive soon. Supposed to have silver face but that black looks cool. What size are those cabs? Need a little something for this puppy and I do mean little! Wife on the rampage.

It does have a chrome faceplate; it just appears to be black in the photo.

The 1x10" cabinets are from Ashdown's Perfect Ten Mini Rig (no longer in production). I have an extra pair if anyone is interested in them.

My quick review: this is the Tiny Terror of bass amps (some of you are probably familiar with the Orange 15/7 watt guitar amp). Great tone, probably perfect in the studio, will do the job in a band setting so long as you don't need to compete with a rock drummer.
I dig it, but I don't need it. I will now become the first dork to sell mine.

Same as Primakurtz, Ruby tubes inside. One 12AU7 HG, two 12AX7AC5 HG, & four EL84s.

Thanks. The AC5's and the 12AU7 HG would be Shuguang (per Doug's Tubes). Ruby resells all sorts of EL84s, but it would certainly make sense to use Chinese tubes in a MIC build.

I got mine in today. I'll hopefully get to open it up over the weekend.

The tone is awesome. And loud. Not crazed rock drummer loud, but loud enough that with a couple of 112's, I'm thinking it will cover most of the indoor gigs with my acoustic three-piece. I can't turn it up loud enough to break up in the house tonight for fear of the neighbors. During the day Saturday I'll crank it.
