Little Mark II and Epifani

Sign in to disble this ad
Right now I own a Little Mark II head and one Shroeder Mini12 and an Epifani PS 112.

I was thinking of picking up another Epifani but a PS210 but before I buy it to try it, I wanted opinions from those who have this or have had this set up. Will the 210 sound so much different then the 112? I am pretty much fed up with the Shroeder as I cannot dig the sound but the compact size and the portability of it has me hanging on just incase I can use it.

I have used the two 12 inches together but it doesn't sound right.

thanks

I've been using a LMII and 2 PS112s and I'm very happy with the rig. Even with the loud rock band guys (the guitar player plays through a twin reverb) it's never lacking.
Maybe the Schroeder and Epifani don't work together very well, I took the advice of many here and opted for 2 similar cabs.

I've had a Epi 2x10 for years (back then, they didn't call them PS - pre UL series, made in NYC) and it has gone well with every had I've put on it. Given that the markbass heads I've heard tend to be a bit mid-focused, I think the Epi would go well, as it is just a bit scooped. I run an Ashdown ABM head (which is a bit middish) and it sounds great. Adding a 2nd 2x10 makes it freakishly good.

You have 2 very different 1x12s. I think a pair of either one would sound better than putting those two cabs together. That is probably why it "doesn't sound right", in your words.

I have a LMII with 2 PS 112s and it sounds great with both of them. Its a similar sound to the 1 PS112 by itself, but with thicker lows and much more overall volume. However, lots of people have had success with the 1x12/2x10 combo, so it's up to you. I like putting 2 of the same cabinet together, rather than mixing and matching because, as you have seen first hand, mixing and matching can potentially leave you with a mismatch that doesn't sound right.
