Ya'll it was like Christmas! Not only did my new Little Mark III arrive from Musician's Friend, but also another big box with my new tuner, strings, adapter, instrument cord, and gig bag. Never in my whole 61 years have I ever gotten so much music stuff all at once. I'm serious. Never been able to. I was like a kid. My wife ordered a pizza, and we had just rented two movies. After getting all the stuff out I kept going back and forth from one thing to another to play with them and think about them. I have been saving for months. It was just unbelievable. That, plus the pizza, movies and good times with my wife made for a wonderful evening. I must say it was hard at first to watch the first movie with any concentration, but it was a comedy (Your Highness) and it added to the good vibes. Then, we watched Madea's Family, hee, hee, what a hoot.
I like to have never gotten that Markbass box open. Big gnarly staples and glue. The cardboard is like plywood, and the amp was suspended with foam inside. Very nice packing. The amp worked fine. Heh, I set it on top of my 121H combo which was on top of my 151P cab. Fun, fun, fun.
And more fun! Thanks for listening. Ya'll be good.

And I salute everyone who puts money aside to buy something instead of billing it all on a credit card.

I told her I needed to try it out beforehand. besides, she was still ordering the pizza online (I didn't know ya could do that). I got to stare at it during the movies, though. It was all in the living room.

| | | | Congrats on your new gear, and feeling like a kid again. I've made a few more recent gear buys myself this year, covering both my guitar and bass g.a.s., and new gear is usually fun more often than not. |

I just bought a used LMII as a backup head to my R500. I played a fill-in gig and got to try my LMII live for the first time a couple weekends ago. It did not disappoint AT ALL. Not to mention I had the most portable setup I've ever gigged with:
LMII in my (padded) backpack, bass in a gigbag over my shoulder, and I lugged my Orange 15" cab in my hands (I could've used my 2x10 cab instead to save some more space/weight, but I didn't want to look puny onstage!)
The whole rig fit securely in the trunk of my sedan on the way to the gig.

It's just this old fart having a good time. Funny, but I can get excited about the simplest things. The LMIII was a biggy, but the rest is just small stuff (I love my Snark tuner, btw, I even like the name). I think the reason I posted this thread at all is because in these times we all need something good to do and think about. It certainly came at a good time for me. Something that is pure joy, where nothing is wrong, that's what everyone needs.
I have already started a new list, Mmwwahahahaha (an evil laugh, LOL). Oh, and I think the Markbass colors will look cool with the Jack-O-Lantern in a few weeks, heh, heh.

I've not done it in a few weeks cuz I've had major G.A.S. attacks last year and some of this year. Had to take a break for abit, but I've started window shopping again recently.
I like that my little 12 yr old Terrier will sit at the front window sill when I raise the blinds abit for her. So when I'm expecting a UPS/FdX delivery, I tell her to sit there and let me know when the truck arrives.
When I hear her start barking wildly I know my sh*t has arrived so I run and hit the garage door opener so they can wheel my stuff right on in. So I guess my pup has G.A.S. too....she gets it from me. Russell L enjoy your new equipment... I'm sure I will too, soon. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
