Little Mark Tube 800 at 8 ohms vs RH450 at 8 ohms??

Sign in to disble this ad
The Little Mark Tube 800 is rated 500w at 8 ohms and the RH450 is rated at 300w at 8 ohms. Its been reported that the RH450 is louder than what its rating suggest.... so in "real world terms" are these amps fairly close in volume at 8 ohms or is there a significant difference?

Also, does the Little Mark Tube 800 have the same limiter 'squishing' issues at 8 ohms as the LMII?

As you may ascertain I am looking at these two amps that will give me big volume at 8 ohms for my 15/6 or 1-12 stack.

For the 15/6, I'd recommend the SD1200 or the Shuttle 9.

While the RH450 was plenty loud with the various 15/6's I've tried it with, the more compressed, mid present tone and polite top end just made those cabs sound dull to me. IMO, unless you want total old school, those 15/6's need some brightness up top. The F1 sounded great and gets surprisingly loud (the 15/6's are quite high SPL across their range). However, if you really want to get loud, I would look at the Shuttle 9 if you want a small box, and the SD1200 if weight is key but size is not.

Don't really like much about the LMT800 (had one for a day.... if you like the SD800, you would like the LMT800... I didn't like either much).

IMO!.
