i would expect it to be new in box. and i'd expect it to be yellow and black. and if you're like me, you'll expect it sounds better when you use the tube.

I owned one for awhile and liked it a lot. With the right amount of filter tweaking it sounded (to me) very much like my LMII, which is why I didn't keep it. But if you're looking for that LMII vibe with the extra watts it's a great unit, IMO.

I owned one for a while. I couldn't cut out enough low end, It is very deep and wide down low. IMHO, the tube knob should be labeled "mud".

Wow, Your quite the psychic there!

There is a lot of good and bad reviews on this amp. But then again, there is a lot of good and bad reviews on pretty much every amp.

My buddy has the little mark 800 and I like it. So I figure this will be close. And if I dont fall in love with it, I will turn it when I get my Mesa Boogie 400+ back from the shop.

I was *this* close to buying one. I was choosing b/n this amp and the bx1500. However, after reading of the extended low-end on the Tube 800 I choose the carvin bx1500.

Curious to hear what you think when you get it.

Alright.

I have had this thing for a week now and it is one of the best sounding heads I have heard.

As far as the complaints of not being do dial out enough bass, that has not been an issue. And the Tube knob is not muddy at all. Not one bit.
I have been able to dial in the perfect tone for my rig. I have two cabinets I use (not together). A dual 15 Marshall Jubilee cab, or an SWR Goliath II 4x10.

My one and only bass is a 1977 Musicman Stingray.

I definitley got a gem. Hell I might even let my Mesa 400+ go.....

So my review of the Little Mark Tube 800---- It a great amp with many quality tone choices. The SS/Tube knob lets you get exactly what you want and is not "muddy at all". By spending time with this amp you will find the tone you have been looking for.

I'm glad you like it - I got mine a while back, and haven't looked back! It's pretty much the be-all/end-all head for me.

I own one and I love it. The other posters are right, and there is massive low-end on this thing. I usually leave the SS/Tube blend a little on the SS side, but not by much, between 11 and 12 o'clock. Leave the low at 12, boost the mids to 3, and highs at 1. Gets a very nice fat round tone that cuts through very nicely through a 6x10 cab, roll off the neck pickup and still get a good jazz growl. Oh it's lovely. The tube side certainly does provide a bit more warmth, hence why I leave it around equal or a little more SS, but I'm certain that if you left the tube side all the way up and had a more treble-y eq or brighter cab it'd sound quite good. All in all it's a pretty fantastic amp and I'm pretty sure you'll love it after spending some quality time dialing everything in just how you like.
