A little Shuttle 6.0 love

Sign in to disble this ad
Since the 9.0. 12.0 and Streamliners series are getting all the attention now, I just like to say how happy I am with my Shuttle 6.0. Been using it for about 3 years now.

I've used it to power NEO 212 and 112 cabs. I've used it with and without effects.

Thanks to guys at GB. They suggested an interesting EQ setting that really brings out the oomphf in the amp.

I find the versatility of the amp amazing. Lately, I am using the VT bass as my preamp, running it into the effects return and using the Shuttle only as a very nice DI (comparable to a Countryman 85 IMO) to the PA.

THanks again GB. Just didn't want the Shuttle 6.0 to get lost in all the new stuff coming out.

I am very interested in this magical EQ setting. Care to share? I also run a VT Bass into my Shuttle, though I have it in front, thru the instrument input. Never tried running it into the FX return and using the Shuttle as a power amp. I love my 6.0. It really is magic in a box!

I only used the shuttle 6 once at a friends studio space. I played it through the shuttle 12" cab. I used my sansamp di into the effects return since I like my sound with that. I was playing with accoustic drums and two very capable guitar amps. Lets just say I was impressed. The little combo kept up pretty damn good. The amp had more to give but I was leary of pushing the speaker too much since it wasn't mine. I'm going out there this week to try the shuttle with my 12/6 fEarful where I won't worry about pushing it a little more. Great amp!

Here here for the little 6.0 and the goodness it brings!
I've had mine for a year and it's really been great.
Now I have a question to those who use it with a Neo 112 or 212. Last week I played with two ridiculously loud guitar players which caused me to push it so hard it turned itself to protect itself. I was playing it through 2 Avatar Neo 210s. I emailed Andy (AgedHorse) about my predicament and he told me the Avatar cabs are pretty inefficient so I it would behoove me to get either get a bigger amp (9.0 in my future?) or more efficient cabs. RIght now I'm thinking of getting a NeoX 112 and then in the future (when I can find the $)getting another one. He said the neox cabs "are 3dB more efficient than your current speakers, this is the equivalent to doubling your effective amplifier power!" Anyone here have a similar experience and heard the loudness difference with the NeoX or Uber cabs versus other not as efficient cabs?
Also, has anyone paired a 12 with a 210?
For most of my gigs my present rig is plenty but being caught with (as Andy said) not "enough rig for the gig" kinda sucked. The thought of schlepping two 112 cabs instead of 2 210 cabs is pretty cool to me.

Played my SX PJ with these settings thru an Avatar 212. With a little fiddling with the volume controls on the bass, I can get some GREAT sounds. I moved the High to 12 o'clock and that cleared up a little mud. Thanks for sharing the settings!

I sold my 12.0 and my 1001RB-II, and only laziness has kept my LMII from going on the block. It gathers dust. I only have 8 ohm cabs, so I'm eyeing the 9.2, but the 6.0 already does most of what I ask of it. And I love the tone.

Love it. Great tone, flexible, lightweight etc. etc. Just like everyone says, Jeff handled a minor issue I was having personally! Bought it used here on TB. I must admit to Streamliner GAS, though.
