LittleMark III -- pre and post EQ

How do you set it? I'm not hearing any difference either way.

(Then again, I don't think there's any difference in the order that effects are lined up though there are those who will swear it makes a difference).

Any opinions?

Pre- and Post-EQ refers to the position of the DI. Post-EQ means the EQ'ed signal will be going to the board, Pre is just post-gain stage but before EQ.

That is for your amp's DI. There will only be a difference if you are sending your signal to a mixer, and then it will only sound different through the FOH.

Your effects loop will always be pre-eq.

Another cellist, hah!

But, yeah, pre/post EQ will affect the DI signal, not what you hear out of the cab.

As for the order of effects, it can certainly make a difference in recordings (when certain frequencies are lost with one filter before going into another, you run out of headroom, etc.), so I imagine the same would hold true for live performance. Whether the difference would be noticeable or not would depend on the effects used and how deft a hand you are with them. Using a theoretically perfect rig with no noise and infinite headroom, it might not make any difference. Don't know enough to say more than that!
