Load & connection question: Running two cabs?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I've gotten my first rig together where I can run two cabs (three to choose from; a Hartke HyDrive HX410 and modded 5210 and an Epifani PS-112) but I'm not 100% on how to connect them and the ohms that I'd be running them at. I know that I could run two cables from the head (a Markbass LittleMark II) to two cabs of my choice but the LMII has a universal Speakon jack and a regular quarter inch speaker cable jack.

Call me paranoid but I would feel MUCH safer being able to use two Speakon cables. The instruction manual for the HX410 says that I can run a cable from the LMII to it and run another from the HX410 to whatever other cab I want. My question is: Would this create a 4 ohm load on the head? That's what I'm after, 2 cabs @ 4 ohms using only one jack on the head. Thanks.

whether daisy chaining or using the jacks on the back of the head, it's the same thing. so as long as it's two 8 ohm cabs, you're in business.

I felt like that was the case but seeing confirmation is a huge relief. Are most cabs with two jacks (2 speakon, 2 quarter inch) able to daisy chain?
