Loading an existing cab with new speakers

I've tried everything else and come to the conclusion that my Behringer 15" has crapped out again. (Again. I guess you get what you pay for) I'd like to put some other manufacturer's 15" driver in it, as the cab is good and sturdy. Any suggestions as to how to determine what speaker would sound best. Thanks.

Take the current speaker out, tweter and crossover.
Measure the interior dimensuions of the cab.
Measure the size of any Ports that are included.

Post here with pictures of your components and these measurements. But that is a good start.

If you're going to gamble without tuning or worrying about dimensions, the Kappalite 3015 is pretty much the best bet for a random drop in -- accepts the biggest array of tunings and sizes.

I don't recommend this approach, but if you're going to do it, that's the only "random drop in" speaker I'd consider.

I'd seriously consider spending that money on another cab altogether. Plenty of great used cabs on the market.
