The long search of a perfect match (Bass cab)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello again, it's me. (Ghasp paus inserted here)

I've finally decided to get the Ampeg svt 7 pro.
Now i need some help from you guys regarding the bass cabbs.

Information:I'm not one of those awesome guys that can hear the diffrence between an Behringer 410 and an Ampeg 410 cabb, i wish i where but im not. Altho im not that guy who sayin like "Dude, this $h!t vibrates man", again, i wish i where. Since i play in this kind of newstarted freakishly wierd Pop/punk band they are not picky with how i sound. They are still on that "i'm louder than you stage", wich is fun yeah but, im the drummer wins. I'm on the other hand in love with the ampeg tone and really want it to push forward so the lissteners can enjoy it as much as i do.

Problem: I'm poor as hell right now (why won't ppl learn to just save up to decent gear, right?), that won't happend if i know that part of my brain right.

I've learned from this forum that a 4x10 cabb + a 115 isn't a good idea if you are low on cash and play loud and fast.

So do you got any suggestions for me?

Mine are the following:

Ampeg Svt 7 pro + Ampeg svt 410HE + my Badringer BB115

That one will fail if understand this right.

Ampeg Svt 7 pro + Ampeg svt 410HE + nothing ATM

From my last thread i've learned that it will fail

Ampeg Svt 7 pro + Something 4x10 + Something 4x10

Can't find something that will provide the right sound i guess. But what do i know right =)?

Ampeg Svt 7 pro + Ampeg svt810e

That would be awesome. But i need to beg ppl on the street for cash Or just make a prostitute out of me.

Any way, you probably get the idea, ANY suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Qvibbe

Is buying used included in the options? I've seen 410HE go for $200 a pop and I once bought an 810E with damaged speakers for $75. Only invested another $120 into it. I bought my vintage '72, beat up but original, for $400.

Nope i haven't :/ Only like 28 pass cabs in the hole country on ebay and 20 of those are combos and the rest is crappy imo. Still searching tho. But a 810e retail price is 1631,74 usd as cheapest. But it could work i guess. will the 800 rms Watt be enought for a 1000w amp?

Im still looking for suggestions on cabs tho.

And i've lost my post again. I said that no i haven't seen any cabs on our version of ebay. The 810e is about 1600usd. wich could work i guess but im still looking for "decent" cheaper alternatives that won't make me lose that ampeg tone im looking for. Still im in a punk band, nobody would cear i guess =)

PM sent.

Anyway, I'd go for a 410he by itself. Not exactly a quiet rig. And I don't know of anyone who regretted getting a good sounding cab.

I will be waiting =)

Then for my last question i hope.

If i should choose between the 810e and 410HE i still should choose the 410HE? And then months from now eventually got one more? and if that is the case, why?

Thanks you, Q

No, if you can get an 810e, get it. Two 410he's sound very similar, but I think an 810e is easier to move. A lot less deadlifting, you can use leverage more often to get it up on higher stages, and about the only bad thing is trying to go up stairs, which isn't any more of a picnic when trying to move a 410he

According to your profile you are not a 6ft. blonde Swedish female so you won't be getting any PM's from me.

Good points from JimmyM on the ampeg 10's. What is available used in your area? Post what they are here and chances are somebody will have owned one or at least heard one. I normally wouldn't tell anybody to buy behringer anything but if it means the difference between prostituting yourself and keeping some degree of self-respect (although not that much), get another of the same behringer whatever it is you have now for the short term. It won't sound any worse than you do now and it will be louder. Then save money for better stuff. The behringer may not sound all that great but at least it won't give you STD's...just don't sit on it.

Did you really think you'd make that much from prostituting anyway?

Haha no, not even my girlfriend where intressted.....how's that for self-respect?

In my area there are nothing available, but about 450km away from here there are some. But then again, i think it all comes down to the epic choice between svt 810e or the 410HE. I don't need to be that loud atm any way since im training 2 new guitarist and that will take a few months more.

Money isn't that much of a problem, just don't like spening that much but i guess im hooked on base for life anyways.

But you guys vote for the 810e i assume? just curious about the "800" rms watt and the amp puts out 1000w rms @ 4 ohm. Not an issue?
