I'm looking for a bassamp that can fit in my bass' gig-bag. I'm tired of lugging a rackcase around and I since I don't have a car (let alone a driver's license) it makes things worse.
Still, I'm very happy with my GK 1001rb-II, so this mini-amp will be just a back-up, or an "on-the-move" amp. Need something that has power, is reliable and doesn't break the bank. Kinda hard to put a price limit since norwegian prices are far higher than in the US. Still, I may be able to find a good one used.
Oh, by the way... I must say I haven't been wowed by MarkBass.

| | | | a couple that come to mind are the Euphonic Audio micro or doubler models; those are tiny and come in at about 2 pounds.
There are also the Acoustic Image . ..
lots of micro amps out there. |

Their 500 watts at 4 ohms.
350 watts at 8 ohms.
580 watts total output at 4 ohms.
3.8 lbs. |

| | | | you should specify how many watts you need. the last gk mb-500 i used failed after about 5 minutes of playing it in store. I heard someone use one live though and when it does work it sounds great. there is a lot of hype over the carvin bx-500 on talkbass. I am considering getting one along with an avatar 2x12.

Preferably 400 watts @ 4 ohms minimum. There might be times where I'll play through 8 ohms cabinets.

I waited till about 5 months ago and took the "leap of faith" and bought a MB2-500.
It's been absolutely great so far.
HUGE power, great tone, small and lite, and was less expensive than the other micro heads. |

| | | | Found the following:
- A new Ashdown AL Little Giant 1000
- A used Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0
The Ashdown was actually cheaper...

Also, what is the difference between GK MB and GK MB2? Can't find the latter on their website.

| | | | But does anyone here have any thoughts on the Ashdown Little Giant? It's pretty cheap, but it does look big for a "mini-amp".

An SVT will fit if the bag is large enough.

I certainly couldn't fit an SVT there. Kinda hard to explain how big it is.
I'd really like to check out the GK MB500, but it hasn't arrived in Norway yet. GK isn't that sought after here.
