Looking for the "best amp" on a $650 budget

I need some advice on a good amp. I tried out the Orange terror bass yesterday ($670), and I love it. I don't want to make a nearly 1k$ commitment too soon when better options are available. If nothing else comes about within the next month or so I will probably get the Orange.

Someone change my mind.

For what it's worth, I would be playing through an Ampeg 410 HLN and an American J bass.

if you are loving that amp, you should buy it.

For anyone to chime in with a good opinion, however, you need to provide more data. What sound are you looking for? If you're considering amp & orange, I'm guessing you just want a good "rock" sound, right?

I play a pretty wide range of stuff. Anything from straight overdriven "rock" bass in post-rock to ridiculous fuzz/distortion/delay noise rock.

^ So by "wide range of stuff" you really mean "a wide range of rock".

Sooooooooooooo.....yes. Just rock haha. Do you think an Orange would sound good when playing in a 2 piece?
