The EbS is pricey at $399 but it does a lot more than most. Most good pedals have headphone inputs. I use a pocket rocket for bass that is pretty good for my purposes. I also have a Pignose Hog-30 battery amp that is under $200. There are also the little mini amps such as the Marshall ($50)..............................Look around there many choices out there..........................

I've never tried one, but before someone else mentions it, the Cafe Walter is one of the most recommended.

HA-1A Headphone Practice Amplifier

Bass Northwest "The Largest Bass Only Store In The World!" is a great place to get them.

I use a Pignose HOG30 as also recommended but that isn't a headphone amp though it's a great "mini" amp.

I also recommend the Tascam GT-R1 phrase trainer.

+1. Cafe Walter is the best headphone amp on the market, IMHO.

Yes it is but the no frills instrument in/headphone out Electro Harmonix Headphone AMP is worth the $40 it costs and your local music store is likely to have it in stock.

An iPod, with IK Amplitube

Play along to tune's you're practicing. And record yourself to hear how well you did.

It's as good as any headphone amp.

iPad is even better, more flexible and can run Garage Band.

Headphone amp?

I use a Korg PX4D, as a headphone/practice amp they're cheap used.

I'll that about the Korg Pandora PX4D; a great little practice headphone amp.

I have both the Pandora PX4D and the Cafe Walter. The Pandora is nice for the rhythm features and the effects are ok. I still think the Cafe Walter beats it hands down as a pure headphone amp.

I'll throw a recommendation for "cheap Behringer mixer" into the mix. Useful tool to have around for a bunch of stuff, including doing duty as a headphone amp.
