Looking for my first "real" amp or rig

Here's the story. I play guitar in a band but our bassman leave. Actually I play bass for a couple of songs and the 2 other member ask me to play bass on a regular basis.

We play country-folk-rock (think Neil Young with a bit more country).

I own a MM Stingray that is not bad for a guitar player I also have a cheap and old 60's japanese bass.

I'm looking for an amp or a rig to :

1- Rehearsal with the band (one guitar and a drummer with a jazz kit) in a small basement.

2- Play gig in small bars and coffe shop

3- Practice at home

The portability of the amp is really important for me.

The amp does not have to colour the sound that much. The Stingray have a sound of it's own and I like it taht way.

I'm looking for Yorkville or old PEavey that sold really cheap here in Canada but I'm open for any other suggestion (number of watts, speakers, etc...)

I prefer to bought used and I'm open to anything.

Budget 500$ will be fine.

for what you've stated 300w would do just fine. a 115 or 210 combo would work for most things, practice and small gigs but for anymore you'd need an extention cab. Theres plenty of manufacturers that make good solid amps like the gk above, ashdown, peavey. just see whats available to you.
